- 1 cup Mash ki Daal/white lentil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1-2 green chilli
- 1/2 tsp Fresh Ginger
- Pinch Asefotida(heing)
- Pinch Baking powder
- Water
- For Dahi Waday/Baday
- 250 gm Dahi /yogurt
- 3/4 tsp salt(to taste)
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp dahi vada masala
- Pinch black salt powder
- 2 tbsp Khajoor ki chutney
- 2 tbsp mint chutney
- Fresh Coriander chop
- Fresh Green/Red chilli
- Sewe /papdi
- Dahi Vada Masala
- 1 tsp zeera/cumin
- 1 tsp sabit dhania/coriander seeds
- 6-8 sabit lal mirch/whole red chilli
Instructions to make to make Oil free Dahi Baday/waday
- Wash & soak mash ki daal for 2 hr. Add soaked daal in blender with salt,green chilli,fresh ginger and blend to paste.soaked daal already retained water which helps in blending yet if needed add little water only.
- Take out blended paste in bowl.add pinch of baking soda.mix well. Pre heat a sandwich maker.add a dallop full of paste in each section & close lid.let it cook.after 5 min flip sides for another 3-5 min
- Take out wadas.cool them. Boil water in pit.add wadas in boiling water.cook for 2-3 minutes.turn off flame.cover & let the wadas stand in water for around 20-25 min.
- Take out wadas from water.press in both palms & squeeze out water. Arrange wadas in serving platter. Beat dahi finely with salt sugar blacksalt powder dahi vada masala.pour dahi over wadas.pour over both chutney,sprinkle chop fresh coriander, chop fresh chillies(I used red chilli) and some sewe or papdi

- To make dahi vada masala. Dry roast zeera dhania & sabit lal mirch. Then grind to powder
